GRAPE
Friulano – native variety trained using double inverted and Guyot systems, with a planting density of 4,000 vines per hectare.
PRODUCTION AREA
Estate-grown at La Viarte in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, in the municipality of Prepotto. The 24-hectare single-body hillside vineyard lies at approximately 150–200 m above sea level, with east and southeast exposure. The soils, of Eocene origin locally known as “Ponca,” consist of stratified marl and sandstone.
WINEMAKING
Hand-harvested grapes undergo gentle pressing with a light skin maceration, followed by cold stabilization of the must for 4 days. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine rests on the lees for 4 months and is bottled on fine lees without filtration. It then ages in bottle for at least 3 months before release.
ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS
Delicate aromas of white flowers, fresh almond, and pear. On the palate, it is fresh and harmonious, with pleasant sapidity and a dry, elegant finish.
SERVING TEMPERATURE
8–10°C in a large wine glass.
PAIRING
Ideal as an aperitif; pairs well with cured meats, cheeses, fish, and white meat.
